From Top Salespeople, to Military Veterans, to General Managers and more - owners come from different backgrounds, but what they all have in common are the "4Hs" - they're Happy, Hands-On, Hardworking, and Hungry for a better life.

They share their stories on what drew them to business ownership, why they took the plunge, and what they've learned. Here are their stories:

For 7 years, Ryan Byrd worked 60-hours a week and was completely miserable. After trying other jobs, he learned about ownership through franchising. Ryan shares "I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I did well on my own. But as a Franchise Partner, the growth I've seen compared to my other companies has been astronomical.  Life is more stressful in some ways, but that's just part of owning a business. In every way, my life has changed for the better." Read Ryan's story here.

After completing his enlistment in the Army at 28, Marc Novak he started working in his family's printing business...until he found an opportunity he didn't expect. Marc took the leap into business ownership and has since broken the "New Rookie Record". Marc explains "It takes guts to bet on yourself and start a business. It's a test of what you're made of and you learn a lot about yourself. I'm also glad to be using the skills I learned in the Army. You need to have a strong work ethic, be accountable and always uphold standards." Check out Marc's story here.

Sion Azulay was a successful businessman in his home country of Venezuela. Due to the political turmoil he chose to uproot his young family and move to Miami in pursuit of a brighter future. Sion shares how immigrating and starting a business was the best decision he's ever made "It has been amazing. Starting a business from scratch is hard work. WOW 1 DAY PAINTING makes it so much easier to be your own boss. There are so many options out there and everyone will try to sell you on what they have to offer. But at the end of the day, it's your responsibility to take initiative and make the decision that's best for you. You should also compare the structure and professionalism of the brands you're considering." Read Sion's story here.

For John Huizing, business ownership wasn't something he'd ever considered. He worked a stable career for 14 years that was downsized (along with hundreds of others) when the business was purchased by an overseas company. So suddenly he was competing with hundreds of his former colleagues for local jobs. He and his wife did their research and chose to start a WOW 1 DAY PAINTING business. John shares "As a former office worker, I didn't even realize how much I'd like meeting with customers and doing estimates. Cubicle workers have to make busy work, put in facetime, and worry about clockwatchers. Now it's different: our days are totally flexible. It's all up to us. And the business is doing very well! It's been a good year. If you follow the systems, things work. And we're finding it's scalable: you can build your business easily." Read John's story here.

At 34, and nearly 10 years as a top salesperson in an office job, Justin Griffing stopped clocking in for someone else and found fulfillment as a business owners. Justin says "I don't just punch in and out anymore, because I know I'm building something bigger. It gives me a sense of ownership and pride. Best of all, I like knowing that if I put the work in, I truly do reap the rewards for what I am putting in. If you're like I was, you might be dreaming of owning a business but not knowing what to do next. My biggest fear was not knowing how to do it. But when I started talking to the team, those feelings went away and I got excited about the possibilities instead." Check out Justin's story here.
