WOW 1 DAY Painting franchise partner Hugh McKee has found an extra way to "wow" North Toronto by sponsoring a minor hockey team called the WOWies.
"We think it is important to support our community and help shape future leaders. Minor hockey is a great way for kids to make friends, learn about teamwork and stay healthy," he said.
Coaches Matthew and Joseph are glad to have the painting franchise on board. "Your generous sponsorship helps provide these kids with the opportunity to experience good hockey in a team environment. And that is what being Canadian is all about," they said in an e-mail.
McKee is happy to help out the WOWies, who had a huge win during overtime on Saturday, April 5, with a goal scored in the last 20 seconds. They seem to be on fire right now, and will advance to the semi-finals in their division, with hopes to make it to the finals on Easter Weekend.
