Residents and business owners in the city of Edmonton can expect to see their clean, shiny vans and friendly, uniformed painters as these two hit the ground running with their residential and commercial painting franchise.
We had a chance to sit down and chat with Priya to find out what made them say WOW! to WOW 1 DAY PAINTING.
Why we chose WOW 1 DAY PAINTING
As technology entrepreneurs, we launched 2 startups focusing on IT services and product-based businesses in the last 8 years and soon realized our comfort level in the technology domain was also restricting us from exploring other opportunities around us. In 2014, we decided to push the boundaries of our comfort zone and do something different - something we wouldn't normally do! One thing was clear from Day 1, we needed to partner with a company who has proven track record. We stumbled onto Brian Scudamore's passionate video on O2E Brands and his new franchise WOW 1 DAY PAINTING - and the rest is history!
Our background prior to WOW
Ajay and I are technologists and engineers by profession. We started our journey in India, experienced the busy worlds of New York and California, before settling down in Edmonton, Alberta for a quieter and more balanced work-life.
Our passions outside of work
Family! I know it's a cliche but every decision revolves around our 3 beautiful kids - Maya (9), Manu (6) and Max (our 4-year-old Wheaton Terrier). Snow, rain or shine, on weekends, you will find us in one of the river valley trails, off-leash parks or relaxing at our neighborhood Starbucks! Not to mention, Jasper National park is our backyard - unplanned weekend family getaways are the best!
Community Involvement
We volunteer at the Edmonton Food Bank regularly. It gives us immense gratitude and an opportunity to teach our kids the values of kindness and empathy.
What we look forward to most
Our story is very similar to millions of other immigrants who call Canada "Home". As a newly married couple, we moved to Edmonton in 2005 and, reflecting back on the last 11 years, we have nothing but extreme gratitude. Now, it's our turn to give back. WOW 1 DAY PAINTING will connect us closer to our community and help us empower hard working, passionate people to grow and succeed with us.
Fun facts about us
Ajay is from Kerala, Southwest state, and I am from Tamilnadu, Southeast state in India. We speak 2 different languages and come from 2 different traditions and cultures. It took us 5 years of campaigning to get our family members lined up for the wedding.
Why we love Edmonton
When you hear "Edmonton", the words that resonate are extreme cold, dry prairie, hot summers - all things that make us Compassionate, Generous and Resilient People! Our neighbors are our friends, and guess what? We barbeque year-round. Weather does not bother us at all!
