Meet Scott Lumsden, our Franchise Partner in Grey Bruce, North Huron. Fun fact: Scott's territory is the largest geographical territory in North America - and he's ready to show the community that speed + quality = WOW!

What made you want to own a WOW 1 DAY PAINTING business?

I was looking for a new entrepreneurial opportunity after years of working in a corporate environment. I spent 20+ years in the sporting goods world. Having lived in Europe, I was looking for something new when returning to Canada. I have a friend who works at O2E Brands [WOW 1 DAY PAINTING's parent company], and that's how I discovered WOW.

What do you see as the benefits of franchising?

For me, it's that there are set business practices in place, and branding that is coast to coast. Having a team in place at HQ allows me to reach out and take advantage of the backend processes.

What are you looking forward to most about being a WOW 1 DAY PAINTING owner?

Being able to develop a team in a great cultural environment and grow the business from the ground up. Being a Franchise Partner means that I'm in control of my own destiny, and hopefully I can help inspire others to take the leap to being their own boss!

What's your big goal - where do you see yourself taking this business?

Ultimately, it's all about growing the business to be successful and profitable. I want to be able to enjoy being my own boss, and sometime down the line be able to sell to someone that is looking to join the entrepreneurial world.

Tell us about your territory - what makes it unique?

I have the largest geographical territory in North America. I handle an area that has been growing with the mass exodus from the GTA region during the pandemic. The majority of my territory is rural with many small towns and very few cities. There are many vacation homes, cottages and ski chalets in the area. I also border on Georgina Bay and Lake Huron so the scenery when driving is very impressive.

Finally, what do you like to do outside of work - what are your interests and passions?

I love to be in the outdoors doing activities with my family. I ski, road cycle, play golf and am open to new adventures. Traveling has always been something that I truly enjoy. Exploring new places within the world and experiencing new cultures and foods.
