Residents and business owners in the Kitchener/ Waterloo and Guelph areas can expect to see Tyrone's clean, shiny vans and friendly, uniformed painters as he hits the ground running with his residential and commercial painting franchise.
We had a chance to sit down and chat with Tyrone to find out what made him say WOW! to WOW 1 DAY PAINTING
Why did you choose WOW 1 DAY PAINTING?
"While researching franchise opportunities in the area, WOW stood out. It provided a fresh new perspective on the home and garden landscape. I have been passionate about home improvement for a long time and was intrigued when I saw this relatively new brand demonstrating great success.
As the population in this region continues to grow, so do expectations for service and professionalism - I'm happy to see both are taken very seriously in Kitchener/Waterloo. Having the support of O2E Brands along the way, and my fellow franchise partners in and around the Toronto area solidified my decision to say yes to WOW!"
What were your backgrounds prior to WOW?
"I spent the last 14 years improving my Japanese language skills in the auto industry. Developing as a key trainer to team leader, and eventually moving to the production control department. In my most recent role, I worked as a project manager within Toyota's various brands. I have also owned a few student rental properties in the area over the past 15 years which keeps the passion for home improvement alive."
What are you looking forward to most about being a business owner?
"My dad always told me "choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life." I'm excited to take on the challenge of generating my own success as an entrepreneur. I can't wait to prove the system and apply it to the Kitchener/Waterloo and Guelph areas."
What is your favourite colour and why?
"Green - maybe it's a sign!"
What are your passions outside of work?
"My family! My daughters and wife definitely keep me on my toes. To keep ratios in check I had to buy the family a male guinea pig! When I'm not busy as a family man, you'll find me on the slopes snowboarding or on a mountain bike. My appetite for good bbq and local craft beers keeps me outside on the patio as much as possible. I am at peace when I'm on a lake, in a canoe, and happy to spend the night sleeping under the stars."
How are you involved with your community?
"Being an active member of my community has always been important to me. Currently, I stay busy helping to coach my daughters' soccer teams. Being part of the Lions Club has also brought great adventure with local festivals and events throughout the year."
What makes the Kitchener-Waterloo region unique?
"Kitchener/Waterloo and Guelph are home to four major colleges and universities. It's often referred to as 'Canada's Silicon Valley' because of the high concentration of tech companies and startups. Infrastructure within the region continues to grow and the gap between this area and Toronto is becoming more and more narrow."
Fun facts about you, or anything else you'd like to share?
"As a second-generation from Belgium, I was the first amongst my peers to enjoy dark chocolate, fries with mayonnaise, and stronger beer - I suppose DeBrouwer is a good last name..."
