First, we brought you 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, a 30-year-old franchise business with partners across North America. Then we leveraged our success to add three emerging brands to the roster: WOW 1 DAY PAINTING and Shack Shine.
As part of a family of home service companies, we're growing rapidly, getting bigger and better together every day. And we just celebrated a major milestone: we awarded our 100th franchise for our emerging brands!
Let's hear from our 100th franchise partner, Greg Johnson, on why he decided to join WOW 1 DAY PAINTING.
Why did you choose WOW 1 DAY PAINTING?
I worked closely with a franchise consultant and during the assessment phase, it became apparent that I was drawn to a service industry with the potential to have my office at home. The territory available for WOW 1 DAY PAINTING was exactly where I wanted to have my business. My visit to the Junktion confirmed I had made the right decision. I got to meet the people at O2E Brands and I became a lot more comfortable with the support I would receive as a franchise partner. I was also looking for something that would allow me to interact with people every day.
What was your background prior to joining WOW 1 DAY PAINTING?
I'm a CPA and I spent 26 years in various corporate audit roles in the financial services and insurance industries. The corporate audit environment was not a place where my personality could flourish, and the work was often mundane and boring. I wanted more from life.
What are you looking forward to most about being a WOW 1 DAY PAINTING business owner?
The freedom to own my own business, hire my own people and create a positive culture for my team.
What are your passions outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and playing sports.
How are you involved with your community?
I am the President of our local youth lacrosse program, Conestoga Youth Lacrosse.
Do you have any role models or key motivators in your life?
My parents have been significant role models and I'm fortunate to still have both of them. They have been married for over 50 years, which is an incredible achievement in this day and age.
What makes Chester County unique?
I grew up in the area and it has been my home for 50 years. The Philadelphia area is a great place to live due to its proximity to Boston, New York, DC and the New Jersey shore. Of course, finally getting to see the Eagles win a Super Bowl in my lifetime is a significant bonus!
Fun facts about you, or anything else you'd like to share?
I've been married to my wife Laurie for 24 years. We have three amazing kids, Lindsay (19), Lauren (16) and Mikey (11).
